Go Outside...In the morning and at night
to BEAT the HEAT
And we are back with the most important and fun urban outdoor stories, events, and places. Thank you to everyone who took our survey last week. We're leaving the survey open for a couple more days, please add your voice if you haven't had a chance. Do you know someone that's an outdoor enthusiast living in the city? Forward this to them. As an added incentive, we're giving away a $10 gift card to Starbucks for survey takers who sign-up for the newsletter.

What does a lotus flower smell like? Floral, subtly sweet, and incredibly aquatic. Smelling it in bloom is such a treat, in fact, one of our favorite summer rituals. During the annual festival, in addition to seeing a spectacular display of lotus and water lilies, you will have a chance to taste lotus tea, attend gardening workshops, and enjoy lotus-inspired dancing performances.

No code needed for the boat rentals.
There's no sweeter way to celebrate the National Ice Cream Day than going to a free ice cream extravaganza where creameries compete to win the DC Scoop crown. Also, the easiest way to eat ice cream is to enjoy it outdoors. If anything spills, it won't require your immediate cleanup.
